The Sculpture Park at the University of Rio Grande was established in 1989, and continues to enliven and enrich our campus. Most of the works are on temporary loan to the campus by professional American sculptors, although a few are permanent aquisitions.

The park was established with the help of arts consultant Brooks Jones and was launched with the donation of the "Folded Circle/Ring" by Fletcher Benton. Brooks Jones and Fletcher both grew up in Jackson, Ohio and have developed international reputations in the arts. Their support was crucial in establishing this perpetual sculpture exhibition. The park was developed primarily for the school children of Southeastern Ohio as part of the ImagineArts outreach program, but has grown to be seen as an integral part of our campus and is a delight to visitors and residents alike.

The collection is curated by Professor of Sculpture Kevin Lyles.
