School of Fine Arts at URG

The mission of the School of Fine Arts is to provide a quality learning environment for students from our service area and beyond. Our undergraduate programs focus on close personal attention for each of our students from a well qualified arts faculty in modern facilities. Our goal is to provide area schools with thoroughly trained teachers in the arts as well as provide students intent on a professional career excellent opportunities to develop creative processes and techniques. Further, our mission is to provide the region quality visual and performance experiences through numerous outreach programs.

The School of Fine Arts offers the Bachelor of Arts Degree, the Associate of Arts Degree, the Bachelor of Science Degree, and the Associate of Applied Science Degree. Undergraduate students who select a major in art are candidates for the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, with concentrations in General Fine Arts, Two-Dimensional Art, Three Dimensional Art and Graphic Design. A Bachelor of Arts Degree can be earned in Comprehensive Music. An Associate of Arts Degree is available in art. An Associate of Applied Science Degree is available in technical theater (subject to approval by the Ohio Board of Regents).

URG Fine Arts Stakeholders

URG Fine Arts Stakeholders is a group of current, past, future students of the University of Rio Grande School of Fine Arts, Fine Arts Faculty, members of the Rio community concerned about the Arts in SE Ohio and the University's role, and anyone concerned with the Arts in SE Ohio and the University of Rio Grande. The Group page is intended as a means of communication and a way of fostering new ideas, praise, comments, and criticism towards making the URG School of Fine Arts stronger and broadening the Arts in the SE Ohio region. Formed as part of the University's Strategic Plan, it is open to all, and any comments are welcome! Help us make it better!
